Get Shredded Abs Now With the Plank!

If you saw the movtie 300 in the theaters and started to feel self conscious about your abs, trust you were not alone.  It seemed like everyone in the movie was rocking a set of 6 pack abs, including the kids.  But don’t fret just yet, all of those guys had some help with a little spray tan and cgi effects. 

The fastest and quickest way to shredded abs is to implement the plank exercise into your workout routine.  The reason the plank is so successful with building those hard to reach abs is because it targets your core, back and hip muscles.  If you are new to the Plank, start off with 30 seconds and keep building.  Once you get to the point of being able to do the Plank for a full 5 minutes, you should notice those new ab muscles already.

Here are more detailed instructions on how to get shredded abs with the Plank:

  • Your Position

    1. Start by lying face down on the ground or use an exercise mat. Place your elbows and forearms underneath your chest.
    2. Prop yourself up to form a bridge using your toes and forearms
    3. Maintain a flat back and do not allow your hips to sag towards the ground.

     

     

     

  •  

    1. Hold this position *focusing on tightening your abs* until you can no longer maintain a flat bridge. For beginners, start with 10 seconds
    2. Return to start position.
    3.
