Will Porsche Make a Comeback With the Panamera?
“That’s my car”, was something I would say all the time as a kid whenever I saw a Porshe zipping down the street. I loved everything about the Porsche, from the size to the speed to the whale tail on the back. My neighbor’s Dad owned a Porsche and all the kids would oooh and aaahh over it, everytime we saw it. Over the years, it seems as if the Porsche has been on the decline. The budget conscious Boxter gave it a boost in popularity a while ago, but Porsche seems to have fallen into obscurity … at least in Los Angeles.
Luxury cars such as the Maybach and Lamborghini seemed to have taken the top spot in most ‘in demand’ luxury automobiles. It looks like Porsche is not giving up without a fight as they introduce the Porsche Panamera for 2010, but are we buying what they are selling to us? After all, it looks like they have created a luxury sportscar with the sensibility of a wagon? First shown in 2009 at the 13th Auto Shanghai, the Panamera has no shortage of luxury or high-tech features
Porsche says that the Panamera is 76 inches in width, making it an especially wide sedan. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, by comparison, is less than 74 inches wide. The Panamera measures 55.8 inches in height and 195.7 inches in length. This makes for a roomy interior, especially for just four passengers. The cabin is complete with 18-way adjustable front seats, and 8-way adjustable rear seats.
The Porsche Panamera retails at a little over $90,000.00. What say you on this luxury sedan from Porsche?
